Arsenal concluded the Premier League season ten points behind champions Liverpool, with injuries and suspensions impacting their campaign. Gabriel Martinelli’s performance this season has been under scrutiny, leading to speculation about his future at the club. Arsenal is reportedly interested in signing Lyon’s Malick Fofana as a potential replacement. Fofana, valued at £42 million, has attracted interest from other clubs including Liverpool and Aston Villa.
Fofana scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 41 appearances this season, averaging a goal involvement every 134.11 minutes. In comparison, Martinelli recorded ten goals and six assists in 51 appearances, with a goal involvement every 222.75 minutes.
The young Belgian winger excels in various metrics such as non-penalty goals plus assists, progressive passes, and shot-creating actions per 90 minutes. His addition could strengthen Arsenal’s left-wing options.
