After finishing just two points behind Manchester City last year, Arsenal now trails Liverpool by 15 points. Arteta stated, “In the Premier League we’ve gone a step backwards.” Despite this, he noted that their recent point totals could have secured two league titles under different circumstances.

Arsenal also faced disappointment in the Champions League, exiting after a semi-final defeat to Paris St-Germain. Nevertheless, Arteta maintained his belief that Arsenal was the best team in the competition this season.

Looking ahead to their match against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, Arteta confirmed that Arsenal would honor Liverpool with a guard of honor. He praised Liverpool for being consistent and deserving champions.
