Arsenal to Offer Trossard a New Contract to End Rumors of His Departure

Arsenal are set to offer a new contract to Leandro Trossard, a key player at the club, in order to strengthen the squad for the coming seasons. The start of the 2024/25 season has proved difficult for the team due to a lack of goal-scoring strikers, which has been particularly noticeable amid the success of Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah at their respective clubs. Arsenal’s top scorer in the current English Premier League season is Kai Havertz, who has scored four goals in 11 games.

Trossard, who played a key role in the Championship last season, has scored just two goals in 11 league games this season. The Belgian forward, who turned down lucrative offers from Saudi Arabia in the summer, has stayed at Arsenal and, according to the Daily Mail, will soon be offered a new and improved contract. The new contract will include a significant increase in wages and emphasize Trossard’s importance to the team.

Since joining from Brighton in 2022, Trossard has featured in 83 games for the club, during which he has contributed to 33 goals. He will look to reassert himself this week amid Arsenal’s attempts to break a streak of just two wins in their last seven matches across all competitions. Arsenal host Nottingham Forest on Saturday, and a defeat could cost the team a drop in the standings.

In the current 2024/25 season, Trossard has played 11 games in the Premier League, scoring two goals. Last season, he played a key role in Arsenal’s title challenge, appearing in 83 games and contributing to 33 goals.

The club’s management team values Trossard’s contributions and is set to offer him improved contract terms, including a significant pay rise. This move highlights Arsenal’s desire to retain key players and strengthen the squad to achieve high goals in the future.

Ahead of Saturday’s match against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates, Arsenal is looking to break a streak of just two wins in their last seven matches across all competitions. A defeat in this game could negatively impact the team’s position in the standings.
