Kevin De Bruyne’s time at Manchester City is coming to an end after a decade. The club has chosen not to extend his contract, making him a highly sought-after free agent in the soccer world. De Bruyne confirmed this news on social media, stating, “I’ll get straight to the point and tell you that these will be my last months as a Manchester City player.” He expressed gratitude for his time in Manchester, acknowledging the impact the city and club had on his life.
Pep Guardiola revealed in a press conference that the decision not to renew De Bruyne’s contract was entirely the club’s. Meanwhile, San Diego FC had been in discussions with De Bruyne since last year but ultimately decided not to pursue him due to financial constraints, as confirmed by their sporting director Tyler Heaps.
In a new development, Inter Miami has claimed Kevin De Bruyne’s discovery rights in Major League Soccer (MLS). This rule allows them exclusive negotiation rights should he choose to join MLS. Discovery rights enable teams to list up to five players they wish to negotiate with exclusively, providing them with a strategic advantage.
