Frank Lampard has led Coventry City to a Championship play-off spot, completing a stunning transformation since taking over the club in November 2024. At the time, Coventry were sitting 17th in the table. They have now finished the season in 5th place, earning a chance to fight for Premier League promotion.
Lampard, a former England and Chelsea star, took charge of Coventry during a difficult period, but quickly instilled confidence and tactical discipline. Under his leadership, the team climbed 12 positions in the table and secured their place in the play-offs on the final weekend of the regular season.
Coventry City have not played in the Premier League since 2001. With a return now within reach, the Sky Blues are hoping to end a 24-year absence from England’s top flight.
“We’ve taken it step by step, and I’m proud of how the team has responded. We’re not done yet,” Lampard said following the final whistle.
