Manchester United is set to welcome Matheus Cunha this summer, as the Brazilian forward has committed to joining the club irrespective of the outcome of their Europa League final against Tottenham. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Cunha has agreed to move to Old Trafford and personal terms are nearly finalized. The deal is expected to be confirmed soon, with United reportedly ready to trigger his £62.5 million release clause.
Cunha, who currently earns £90,000 a week at Molineux, will bring significant strength to United’s attacking lineup under manager Ruben Amorim. This acquisition comes as a boost for Amorim as he prepares for his first full season in charge of the Red Devils.
Despite the importance of the upcoming Europa League final, Amorim has stated that winning the trophy will not solve all of United’s issues: “It’s strange because you have some coaches here that lose some games, and they are sacked… it’s hard to explain. People understand, especially the board, that we have a lot of issues that need addressing.”
