Newcastle United is reportedly considering a move for Atletico Madrid striker Alexander Sorloth. This comes as the club prepares for potential changes in their forward lineup, with Alexander Isak attracting significant interest from other clubs. Arsenal is reportedly preparing a £127m offer for Isak, while Liverpool has also shown interest in the Swedish forward.
Sorloth joined Atletico Madrid last summer for €32m (£27m) and has made an impressive impact in La Liga, scoring 21 goals across all competitions, including 17 in the league. Despite Atletico’s early exit from the Champions League, Sorloth’s performance has been noteworthy.
The Norwegian international ranks in the top 1% for non-penalty goals per 90 minutes over the past year among strikers and is in the 95th percentile for aerial duels won. These statistics highlight his potential fit for Newcastle, especially if they secure a Champions League spot and look to bolster their attacking options.
While Newcastle considers Sorloth as a possible partner or replacement for Isak, it remains uncertain if Atletico would be willing to part with him after his successful debut season.
