Nuno Espírito Santo Leads Nottingham Forest to FA Cup Semi-Final and Premier League Top 3

Nuno Espírito Santo has guided Nottingham Forest to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and currently holds third place in the Premier League table — a remarkable turnaround just over a year after parting ways with Al-Ittihad.

The Portuguese manager took charge of Forest in late 2023 and has since overseen a significant improvement in both domestic competitions. Under his leadership, the club secured a place among the top three in the Premier League and reached the final four of the FA Cup, marking one of the most successful seasons in Forest’s recent history.

From Saudi Arabia to English Success

Espirito Santo was dismissed by Al-Ittihad in November 2023 following a run of disappointing results. Despite challenges during his time in the Saudi Pro League, his reputation in European football remained intact due to previous success at clubs like Wolverhampton Wanderers and Valencia.

At Forest, Nuno implemented a compact defensive system combined with a dynamic transition play, resulting in consistent performances across competitions.

A Historic Run for Nottingham Forest

  • Forest’s last FA Cup semi-final appearance was in 1991.
  • The club won the competition twice, in 1898 and 1959.
  • This is Forest’s highest Premier League position at this stage of the season in over two decades.

The FA Cup semi-final will be played at Wembley in April. Nottingham Forest will join Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, and Manchester City in the final four.
