Saka Urged to Follow Ronaldo’s Example, Says Arteta

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has encouraged Bukayo Saka to emulate Cristiano Ronaldo, his childhood idol, as the winger continues to shine this season.

Bukayo Saka has been in remarkable form, recording five goals and 10 assists in just 12 Premier League matches. Arteta expressed his admiration for Saka’s consistent progress. “Every year, we see Bukayo improving, adding something new to his game,” said Arteta. “His consistency and his impact on goals and assists this season are incredible. He can only get better.”

Saka, who has often spoken about his admiration for Ronaldo, may find inspiration in the Portuguese star’s journey. Arteta reflected on Ronaldo’s early career at Manchester United. “When Cristiano started, no one expected him to achieve what he did in the first few seasons. His work ethic, mentality, and chemistry with his team played a massive role,” Arteta said.

Arteta believes that Saka is in a similarly supportive environment and can aim high. “Bukayo has the context to thrive—being in a team that can dominate. If he’s looking to match that level, it’s a positive ambition.”

Saka’s impressive stats this season underline his growing influence at Arsenal and in the Premier League, and comparisons to one of football’s all-time greats signal his potential to reach new heights.

In the recent match against West Ham, Arsenal secured an impressive 5-2 victory, elevating them to second place in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Liverpool. This season, Arsenal has showcased a strong offensive presence, netting 26 goals in 13 matches and accumulating 25 points.

Arsenal’s next fixture is scheduled for December 4 against Manchester United. Given the team’s current form and Bukayo Saka’s inspiring performances, fans are hopeful for the continuation of their successful streak.

Saka has also received encouragement from teammate Jorginho, who urged him to aspire to win the Ballon d’Or, noting that he could become the fifth Englishman to receive this honor and the first in 23 years. Jorginho emphasized that Saka possesses world-class talent and has every opportunity to achieve this goal.

Comparisons with Cristiano Ronaldo highlight Saka’s potential to reach the pinnacle of football. His current form and impact on Arsenal’s play indicate that he is on the right path, and Arteta’s guidance can help him fully realize his potential.
