Liverpool, April 2025 — Mohamed Salah is edging closer to signing a new contract with Liverpool, according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano. The Egyptian forward is in advanced talks with the club, and an agreement is expected to be finalised soon.
Romano also reports that Liverpool remain equally optimistic about extending the contract of Virgil van Dijk. The Dutch centre-back recently confirmed that discussions are moving in the right direction.
These developments come as Liverpool look to secure the future of two of their most influential players, both of whom have played crucial roles in the club’s recent success.
Securing long-term deals for Salah and Van Dijk would be a major boost for the club ahead of the 2025/26 season. Both players remain central to Liverpool’s leadership group and starting XI. Their experience and consistency could prove vital as the team continues to compete for domestic and European honours.
