Jadon Sancho and Antony, both 25, are facing uncertain futures after the conclusion of their respective loan spells. Sancho, on loan at Chelsea, contributed to the team’s success with three goals in ten matches, helping them secure their first trophy since February 2022. His future remains undecided as Chelsea considers whether to make his move permanent.
Antony, who joined Real Betis on loan in January, made a significant impact with nine goals and five assists in 26 games. Despite Betis loss in the Conference League final against Chelsea, Antony is set to rejoin Brazil’s national team under new coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Manchester United invested over £150 million in both players. Sancho’s loan agreement includes an option for Chelsea to purchase him if they finish above 14th place in the Premier League or pay a £5 million release clause. Discussions about his future are ongoing.
Antony’s performance has been praised by Betis officials, but Manchester United is unlikely to recoup the £81.3 million spent on him unless they sell him for at least £32.52 million due to amortization requirements. The club is reportedly unwilling to accept less than €50 million (£42 million).
As Manchester United prepares for significant changes this summer, including a potential transfer of Matheus Cunha from Wolves for £62.5 million, both Sancho and Antony’s futures remain uncertain.
