Ruud van Nistelrooy has endured a difficult start to his managerial tenure at Leicester City, losing 12 of his first 15 Premier League matches. This gives him one of the worst loss percentages in the competition’s history among managers who have overseen at least 15 games.
Among the Worst EPL Records
Van Nistelrooy’s 80% loss rate is the third-worst in Premier League history for managers with at least 15 matches in charge of a single team. Only Mick McCarthy with Sunderland (84%) and Russell Martin with Southampton (81%) have recorded worse percentages.
A Tough Transition from Player to Manager
While Van Nistelrooy was an elite striker during his time at Manchester United, his managerial career at Leicester has been far from smooth. The Foxes have struggled under his leadership, raising questions about the club’s direction and his future in the role.
With Leicester facing a difficult battle to turn their season around, pressure is mounting on Van Nistelrooy to improve results before the club is forced to reconsider its options.
