Willian Rejoins Fulham for Third Spell After Olympiacos Exit

Brazilian Winger Signs Until End of the Season

Fulham have officially announced the return of Willian on a short-term contract valid until the end of the season. The 36-year-old winger, who previously had two stints with the club, will wear the No. 22 shirt upon his return.

Free Agent Move

Willian became a free agent following his departure from Olympiacos in December, enabling him to sign outside the standard transfer window, which closed on Monday at 23:00 GMT.

Willian’s Statement

Speaking to the club’s official media, Willian shared his excitement about returning to Craven Cottage:

“I think it’s a great opportunity again to play for this club, and I’m fully motivated to get on the pitch and do things well for this club. I’m completely happy, my family’s happy. We are happy to be back, and I think we can do good things until the end of the season, so I can’t wait to start with my teammates and do good things inside the pitch.”

Premier League Career

Willian has an extensive history in the Premier League, having played for Chelsea, Arsenal, and Fulham. His most successful period came with Chelsea, where he won two Premier League titles and collected five major trophies between 2013 and 2020.

After a season with Arsenal in 2020/21, Willian returned to Brazil with Corinthians before joining Fulham in September 2022. During his previous tenure at the club, he made 67 appearances in all competitions, scoring 10 goals.

Across his Premier League career, he has played 317 matches and scored 47 goals, earning Premier League Goal of the Month honors in January 2018 and February 2023.

  • Willian has 70 caps for the Brazilian national team, scoring 9 goals.
  • He was part of Brazil’s squad in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cups and played a key role in their 2019 Copa América victory.
  • Before moving to England, he played for Shakhtar Donetsk, where he won four Ukrainian Premier League titles and the 2008–09 UEFA Cup.
  • Willian is known for his speed and technical ability, often ranking among the best dribblers in the league during his peak years.
  • He is fluent in multiple languages, including Portuguese, English, and Russian, thanks to his time in Ukraine and England.

Potential Debut and Upcoming Matches

Willian may make his return this Saturday when Fulham face Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup fourth round. In the Premier League, Marco Silva’s team is set to play Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage on February 15.
