Kaizer Chiefs Eye MTN8 Spot After Nedbank Cup Triumph

Kaizer Chiefs, fresh off their victory in the Nedbank Cup, are now focused on securing a place in the MTN8 competition. The team ended a decade-long trophy drought with their recent win. Chippa United’s 3-0 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns has opened the door for AmaKhosi, who need to win their last two matches to guarantee an MTN8 spot. Their upcoming match against Sekhukhune United is crucial, as Sekhukhune is also vying for a CAF Confederation Cup position and is closely trailed by Stellenbosch. Kaizer Chiefs will conclude their season against Polokwane City.

After the Nedbank Cup final at Moses Mabhida Stadium, players Wandile Duba and Gaston Sirino were visibly emotional, highlighting the significance of the victory and the challenges of the season.

Meanwhile, coach Nasreddine Nabi has confirmed his commitment to stay with Kaizer Chiefs next season under certain conditions. He stated, “I wouldn’t be honest if I say that I’m gonna stay if the club doesn’t allow me to get all the tools to succeed next season because they have promised, and myself, I have promised the fans that I want to build a successful team that will compete in every competition to win trophies.”
