Kaizer Chiefs are facing challenges in their search for a reliable left-back as the new season approaches. The club has paused discussions about Happy Mashiane’s future, as they continue to seek a key signing in this position. Chiefs have been targeting Fawaaz Basadien from Stellenbosch FC and Mohamed Hussein from Simba SC, but neither transfer has been finalized.
A source indicates that if Chiefs fail to secure Basadien or Hussein, Mashiane may remain with the team by default due to limited options. With Dove expected to depart, the urgency for Kaizer Chiefs to strengthen their left flank is increasing.
Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns are also pursuing Basadien despite having several left-back options such as Terrence Mashego and Divine Lunga. Reports suggest that Sundowns might succeed in acquiring Basadien, although Chiefs believe they still have a chance.
Basadien has had an impressive season at Stellenbosch FC, contributing seven goals and eight assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.
