Mamelodi Sundowns have claimed their eighth consecutive Betway Premiership title following a decisive 3-0 victory over Chippa United at Buffalo City Municipality Stadium. Iqraam Rayners scored the first goal in the 11th minute, with Arthur Sales adding two more in the 69th and 89th minutes. This win extends their lead over Orlando Pirates to an insurmountable 15 points, ensuring their championship status with four games remaining for their closest rivals. The team will conclude their league season against Magesi FC on Sunday, May 18.
Under head coach Miguel Cardoso, appointed in December 2024, Mamelodi Sundowns continue to excel both domestically and internationally. They are set to compete against Egypt’s Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League final. The first leg is scheduled for Saturday, May 24 at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria, with the return leg on June 1 in Egypt.
