Bafana Bafana’s head coach, Hugo Broos, has announced that Nkosinathi Sibisi will captain the South African national team in their upcoming fixtures against Tanzania and Mozambique. The 29-year-old defender has been a key player for Orlando Pirates and has consistently been part of the national squad since Broos took charge. Sibisi played alongside Siyabonga Ngezana in recent victories over Lesotho and Benin during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, stepping up in the absence of injured players Rushwin Dortley and Mothobi Mvala. Coach Broos expressed confidence in Sibisi’s leadership, citing his experience and respect among teammates. South Africa is set to face Tanzania on Friday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium, followed by a match against Mozambique at the same venue four days later.
