Orlando Pirates are set to wrap up their 2024/25 season with a home game against Magesi FC at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Soweto-based team is looking to secure their 20th league victory after drawing against AmaZulu last weekend, bringing their total points to 60. Despite being unbeaten in their last six matches, they have experienced four draws recently, impacting their home performance tally of 31 points from 13 games.
Magesi FC, who secured their top-flight status for another season with a draw against Marumo Gallants, currently sit in 13th place. They are four points ahead of SuperSport United and aim to improve their standing with a positive result against the Buccaneers. However, Magesi’s away form has been challenging, having collected only nine points from a possible 36 and losing their last four away matches.
In terms of team news, Orlando Pirates welcome back right-back Bandile Shandu after suspension, while striker Evidence Makgopa and midfielder Makhehleni Makhaula remain doubtful. Defender Mbekezeli Mbokazi might also be absent due to an injury sustained in the previous match. For Magesi FC, striker Wonderboy Makhubu and defender John Mokone will miss the game due to suspensions.
This fixture marks the third competitive meeting between these teams this season. Orlando Pirates previously won their league encounter with a narrow 1-0 victory at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium. Kick-off is scheduled for 19:30 and will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL.
