Orlando Pirates are in the process of identifying their next head coach. Among the potential candidates are notable names such as Pitso Mosimane, Rulani Mokwena, and Benni McCarthy. Additionally, the club has shown interest in two former coaches.
Fadlu Davids, a previous head coach of the Pirates, was reportedly approached by the team. However, he declined their offer, opting to stay with Simba due to his ongoing commitments there. A source confirmed, “Yes, it’s true that Pirates wanted Davids back. It was not only Pirates; Raja Casablanca also wanted him, but he wanted to remain with Simba. He says he still has some unfinished business with Simba. He has done well at Simba and the fans love him so he wants to stay at the club.”
Rulani Mokwena is another name linked to the position following Jose Riveiro’s departure. Mokwena previously served as an interim coach for Orlando Pirates in 2019 and is considered a strong contender after his recent exit from Wydad Casablanca.
