Orlando Pirates Near Decision on New Head Coach

Orlando Pirates are reportedly close to announcing their new head coach following the departure of Jose Riveiro to Al Ahly. Former interim head coach Rulani Mokwena is a leading candidate for the position. Mokwena, who has previously worked with the Pirates and other clubs such as Chippa United, Mamelodi Sundowns, and Wydad Athletic Club, is speculated to be returning to Soweto. A source indicated that while no official announcement has been made, Mokwena’s name is prominent in discussions. The Pirates aim to finalize the appointment before their European pre-season tour in July.
