Orlando Pirates are undergoing significant changes as they prepare for the upcoming season, with a focus on revamping their squad. Following the confirmed exits of former captain Innocent Maela and midfielder Miguel Timm, attention has now shifted to another key player, Goodman Mosele, who is reportedly planning to leave the club.
The club is actively reducing its squad size to introduce a fresh and competitive lineup. It has been confirmed that Mosele is next in line for departure. “At the moment, the club is dealing with one player at a time. It’s believed that Goodman Mosele is next,” stated a source, adding that his contract will not be renewed when it expires at the end of the month.
The arrival of Sihle Nduli has increased competition in the midfield, prompting management to make tough decisions. Mosele appears to be one of those affected in an already talent-rich department. “There are several players in that area, and with Sihle having finalized his move, some players are being cut off” noted the source.
Since joining from Baroka FC in 2021, Mosele has shown considerable promise. His loan spell at Chippa United in 2023 was successful enough to earn him a call-up to Bafana Bafana. Despite these accomplishments, the club seems set on not extending his contract beyond June.
At 25 years old, Mosele will soon enter the market as a free agent and could be a valuable addition for rival PSL teams seeking midfield strength.
