Orlando Pirates have made significant strides this season, initially leading the league standings and claiming victory in the MTN8. Among their new acquisitions, three players have stood out.
Deano Van Rooyen, who transferred from Stellenbosch FC, has become a key player for the Pirates at right-back, featuring in 34 matches. His consistent performance has solidified his position despite tough competition.
Mbekezi Mbokazi, a 19-year-old promoted from development in 2025, has impressed with his defensive skills. He has effectively filled the gap left by Thabiso Sesane’s injury and has appeared in 17 games, outperforming more experienced teammates.
Mohau Nkota joined the senior team this season and quickly became a crucial part of the attack. At just 20 years old, he has played in 37 matches, scoring seven goals and providing five assists.
Additionally, Thalente Mbatha deserves mention for transitioning from a loan to a permanent signing at the start of the season.
