Percy Tau Becomes Free Agent After Qatar SC Departure

Percy Tau, the forward for Bafana Bafana, is now a free agent following his departure from Qatar SC. The 31-year-old concluded his short-term contract with the Qatari Stars League team, which he joined in January after leaving Al Ahly. During his time at the club, Tau played in 10 matches and provided four assists. Qatar SC finished the season in 10th place, narrowly avoiding relegation. On Thursday afternoon, the club announced Tau’s exit along with head coach Mehdi Natfi and several other players including Ben Malango, Javi Martinez, Badr Benoun, Carlinhos Vinicius, and Ahmed Abdelkader. Tau is currently seeking new opportunities as he prepares for the upcoming 2025/26 season.
