Fiston Kalala Mayele, a striker for Pyramids FC, has emerged as the top scorer in the 2024/25 CAF Champions League, netting nine goals in 13 matches. His contributions were pivotal in leading Pyramids to their historic title win this season. Mayele scored twice in the quarter-finals against ASFAR, added another two in the semi-finals against Orlando Pirates, and secured one goal in the final against Mamelodi Sundowns, resulting in a 3-2 aggregate victory.
Mayele’s career at Pyramids FC has been marked by consistent performance, with a total of 39 goals and seven assists across all competitions over two seasons. Despite interest from Kaizer Chiefs during the January transfer window, Mayele remains focused on his current team and is preparing for the Egypt Cup final against Zamalek.
In the scoring charts, Mayele surpassed Youcef Belaïli of Esperance Sportive de Tunis, who scored seven goals in nine games. Other notable scorers included Ibrahim Adel from Pyramids with six goals in eight matches and Relebohile Mofokeng (Orlando Pirates), Emam Ashour (Al Ahly), and Stephane Aziz Ki (Yanga), each with five goals.
