Rulani Mokwena, the former coach of Wydad Athletic Club, has shown interest in rejoining Orlando Pirates. After his departure from Wydad, Mokwena is linked with the vacant coaching position at the club. During an appearance on SuperSport TV’s Soccer Africa, Mokwena confirmed his willingness to consider a return to Pirates. The 38-year-old coach expressed fondness for the club and its people, highlighting his previous experience there.
Mokwena briefly led Orlando Pirates in 2019 after Micho Sredojevic’s exit, managing 14 matches with four wins, five draws, and five losses. He was succeeded by Josef Zinnbauer in December 2019 and later joined Chippa United before returning to Mamelodi Sundowns as an assistant coach. At Sundowns, he eventually became co-coach and then head coach.
Mokwena’s achievements with Mamelodi Sundowns are well recognized. Now available for new opportunities, he remains open to offers from clubs seeking his expertise.
