In a challenging Premier League match at Anfield, Arsenal managed to secure a 2-2 draw against Liverpool. The game began with Arsenal giving a guard of honor to the newly crowned champions. Despite an early missed opportunity by Bukayo Saka, Arsenal found themselves trailing 2-0 within the first 21 minutes. However, Mikel Arteta’s team showed resilience in the second half.
Gabriel Martinelli played a pivotal role after being repositioned from the left flank to the center. His collaboration with Leandro Trossard led to Arsenal’s first goal shortly after halftime. Martin Odegaard contributed significantly, assisting in the equalizer scored by Mikel Merino, who headed in a rebound after Odegaard’s shot was deflected by Alisson.
Merino’s performance was marred by a late red card following a challenge on Dominik Szoboszlai. Meanwhile, William Saliba struggled defensively without his usual partner Gabriel, and Trossard faced difficulties despite providing an assist.
Arsenal now faces uncertainty in their attacking lineup for their upcoming match against Newcastle due to injuries and suspensions.
