Aston Villa is reportedly facing a challenging summer transfer window due to potential PSR issues. The club may need to sell key players if they fail to qualify for the Champions League. Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins have attracted interest from Chelsea, but Villa is reluctant to sell to a top rival. In January, Aston Villa sold Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr for £71m, making room for new additions like Donyell Malen.
In an effort to strengthen their squad without major expenditures, Aston Villa’s sporting director Monchi is in discussions to sign Jonathan David from LOSC Lille. The Canadian forward will be available as a free agent next month. At 25, David has impressed with 25 goals this season in France.
Lille manager Bruno Genesio praised David after he reached 101 career goals for the club, stating: “Scoring 101 goals speaks volumes. But it’s not just goals for me with Jona. He’s a player who plays a big part in the game and above all, a player who’s full of selflessness.”
