Kaizer Chiefs are currently evaluating their defensive options, including the potential signing of Mhleli Mabuza, a right-back from Louletano Desportos Clube in Portugal. Mabuza recently trained with the team at Naturena, sparking speculation about a possible transfer. However, no formal offer has been made yet.
A source confirmed that while Mabuza participated in training sessions and was assessed by the technical staff, the club has not reached a decision. “Chiefs are still weighing up their options. There’s been no formal offer for Mabuza yet” the source stated.
Despite this uncertainty, Mabuza’s representatives remain hopeful due to his strong performance during training. The 24-year-old has been recognized as the top right-back in the Campeonato de Portugal this season, with nine assists to his name.
Mabuza’s journey began in 2018 after impressive performances in friendly matches led to his move to Europe. Since then, he has established himself as a key player for Louletano DC, known for his speed and attacking capabilities.
