As the current season concludes, Orlando Pirates are preparing for the next by searching for a new head coach following Jose Riveiro’s departure. Among potential candidates is Benni McCarthy, a former Bafana Bafana star currently coaching the Kenyan national team. McCarthy has expressed his commitment to Kenya’s Harambee Stars, focusing on upcoming international friendlies and the CHAN tournament in August. “I am looking forward to going back and then working on the June international friendlies and then we have CHAN coming up in August” McCarthy stated. With McCarthy unlikely to join, other names like Rulani Mokwena and Piso Mosimane are being considered, with Mokwena reportedly favored for the role. In player news, Relebohile Mofokeng might be transferred after an impressive season, attracting interest from European clubs. Additionally, Monnapule Saleng has not played since December and may also leave the team. The Buccaneers have two remaining matches in the Betway Premiership but can only secure a second-place finish.
