Orlando Pirates are in search of a new head coach following the departure of Jose Riveiro, who left after securing five trophies in three years with the club. The Spanish coach is reportedly linked with a move to Al Ahly in Egypt. Former assistant coach Fadlu Davids, now coaching Simba in Tanzania, has expressed that Rulani Mokwena is an ideal candidate to succeed Riveiro. Davids highlighted Mokwena’s familiarity with the club and its chairman, Dr. Irvin Khoza, as well as his style of play that aligns with the team’s preferences. Mokwena previously coached Orlando Pirates briefly in 2019 before leaving after an unsuccessful stint. He recently parted ways with Wydad Casablanca after one season.
