Following a defeat in the Europa League final, Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim is reportedly preparing to make significant changes to his squad. Amorim, who has faced challenges since taking over at Old Trafford, is said to be considering the departures of key players Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Rasmus Hojlund, and Andre Onana this summer. Despite a difficult season that saw United drop from near the top four to potentially finishing 16th in the Premier League, Amorim remains committed to his role. In a post-match press conference, he stated: ‘I am confident that I am still the guy. More than [at] the beginning! I know that it’s going to be tough… But I guarantee that I will not quit.‘ The potential exits are part of Amorim’s strategy to revamp the team and bring in new talent. Onana’s inconsistent performances and Hojlund’s struggle to make an impact since his £72m transfer are cited as reasons for their possible departures. Meanwhile, Casemiro, despite recent improvements, may be moved on due to his age and future planning for the club. Shaw’s high salary and fitness issues also make him a candidate for leaving as United look to manage their wage bill.
