Everton is intensifying its efforts to sign midfielder Angel Gomes from Lille, as they prepare for the 2025-26 season at their new Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. Manager David Moyes is reportedly a strong admirer of Gomes, who is set to leave Lille on a free transfer this summer. The Toffees face competition from Tottenham Hotspur, Aston Villa, and West Ham United for the English international’s signature. Everton’s midfield needs are pressing, with Abdoulaye Doucoure, Idrissa Gueye, and Orel Mangala all expected to depart Goodison Park at the end of their contracts this summer. Gomes has been praised for his performances in Ligue 1 and his recent debut for England against Finland. His ability to deliver accurate passes and his tactical awareness have caught the attention of several clubs.
