Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has weighed in on the ongoing speculation surrounding Trent Alexander-Arnold’s potential departure from Liverpool, expressing confidence that the Merseyside club will manage just fine without the right-back.
In his latest comments, Keane questioned the reaction of fans and media to the transfer rumors:
“It’s amazing how discussions about Trent make it sound like the world will stop if he leaves Liverpool. He’s a great player who has truly served the club, but I’m sure Liverpool will handle the loss. After all, players even better than Trent have left Liverpool — and everything turned out fine.”
Keane’s remarks come amid growing reports linking Alexander-Arnold with a move to Real Madrid, though no official confirmation has been made. The England international has been a key figure in Liverpool’s recent success, having played over 300 games for the club since his debut.
Despite his influence, Keane believes that Liverpool’s long-term planning and strong squad foundation will help the team remain competitive in his absence.
