Manchester City is reportedly intensifying efforts to secure the signing of Tijjani Reijnders from AC Milan for a reported fee of €60 million (£50 million). The club aims to finalize the deal by June 1, aligning with their plans for the Club World Cup. This move comes as City prepares for a significant midfield overhaul following Kevin De Bruyne’s confirmed departure and the potential exits of Ilkay Gundogan and Bernardo Silva. Reijnders, who has impressed with his performances in Serie A, could be a key addition to Pep Guardiola’s squad. In the 2024/25 season, Reijnders played 3,038 minutes, scoring 10 goals and making 110 progressive carries. Comparatively, Silva played 2,580 minutes, scored four goals, and made 99 progressive carries. The potential acquisition highlights City’s commitment to strengthening their midfield as they transition into a new era.
