Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers’ Association (FWA) Footballer of the Year. Salah’s outstanding performance this season includes 33 goals and 23 assists across all competitions, significantly contributing to Liverpool’s Premier League title victory. The Egyptian international has played in every league match for Liverpool this season and recently extended his contract at Anfield for two more years. Salah secured the award with nearly 90% of the votes, marking his third win after previous victories in 2017-18 and 2021-22. He surpassed teammates Virgil van Dijk and Ryan Gravenberch, as well as Arsenal’s Declan Rice and Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, to claim this year’s honor.
