Newcastle, Matchweek 29 — Newcastle United delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over Crystal Palace at St. James’ Park, securing a crucial three points and moving up to third place in the Premier League standings.
Jacob Murphy opened the scoring in the 14th minute, setting the tone for the hosts. An own goal by Marc Guéhi extended the lead in the 38th minute. Just before half-time, Newcastle added two more — Harvey Barnes struck in the second minute of stoppage time, followed by Fabian Schär’s goal six minutes later.
The Magpies continued their offensive display in the second half, with Alexander Isak adding a fifth goal in the 58th minute to complete the rout.
Following this result, Newcastle now sit third in the league table with 59 points, overtaking Nottingham Forest and Manchester City. The updated top five positions are as follows:
