Newcastle Eyes £42.2m Deal for Bayer’s Victor Boniface

Newcastle United is nearing a significant milestone with their recent 2-0 victory over Chelsea, bringing them closer to securing a spot in the Champions League. The goals were scored by Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes at St James’ Park. As the summer transfer window approaches, Newcastle is reportedly in advanced talks to sign Victor Boniface from Bayer Leverkusen. Discussions with the player’s representatives are ongoing, and the transfer fee is expected to be around £42.2 million.

In addition to Boniface, Newcastle has shown interest in other players such as Girona’s Yangel Herrera and Liverpool’s Harvey Elliott, with bids reportedly being prepared. The club aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the upcoming season.

Comparing domestic league statistics, Alexander Isak has scored 23 goals and provided six assists, while Boniface has eight goals and one assist. Despite some injury setbacks, Boniface has been praised by Xabi Alonso as a ‘complete player’ and has scored 11 goals across all competitions this season.

As Newcastle continues its pursuit of top talent, securing Boniface would demonstrate their ambition for the 2025/26 campaign.
